Improving patient care - the implementation of change in clinical practice

Richard Grol, Michel Wensing and Martin Eccles of the ReBEQI group have published a new book looking at introducing change and innovation into practice.

In the field of health care, a very large number of valuable insights, procedures and technologies become available each year. They come from well planned scientific research or careful experiments and evaluation in everyday practice. As many of these innovations are not adopted in daily practice, it is crucial to understand how successful implementation can be achieved.

Improving Patient Care: The Implementation of Change in Clinical Practice examines the process of introducing change and innovation into practice. With chapters on identifying problems in the implementation, selecting strategies, effective implementation of policies, and evaluation of the success of the changes, this book provides a comprehensive overview of all the elements involved in the successful implementation of change.

The book will be published in December 2004 by Elsevier.  It is available from Amazon at http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/075068819X/ref=rm_item
